Bio

Flexible
As an endlessly curious and creative-minded individual, I thrive best in a fluid work environment that offers a variety of intellectual challenges. My academic degree in Philosophy, for which I compiled extensive research, along with my breadth of work experience, have imbued me with both theoretical and practical training in exercising initiative and developing solutions to a diverse range of issues. I have worked both independently and in settings with upwards of one hundred members of staff and do very well in both social and solitary tasks.
Professional
I have acted as the primary point of contact for customers, independently managing the front desk at the main county branch of a public library, as well as attending at a 5 star resort. I have always guarded client confidentiality, particularly evidenced during my time at the resort where we regularly received high-profile guests. In my work as an Attendant, I personally received guests and gave them a tour of the facility, attending to any needs before conducting them to their appointments while simultaneously serving as the central contact person between guests, management and staff.
Personable
Feedback from clients, management and coworkers, alike, reflect my excellent interpersonal skills. I am highly enthusiastic, empathetic, and committed to providing a positive experience and promoting good will across both staff and patrons. As a member of a minority demographic, it is especially important to me to treat everyone with mutual dignity, respect and fairness and without prejudice at all times. I am responsible and reliable and have many past employers, customers, and co-workers who are happy to vouch for these qualities.
Creative
I am by nature a creative individual and regularly set myself problem-solving tasks and design challenges, whether that be learning new software or techniques, working through social and philosophical problems, building a website, resolving more efficient methods, communicating more effectively, or cultivating a desired atmosphere or aesthetic. In my academic experience in theatre, I performed on stage and assisted in the installation of stage sets as well as Ushering and preparing the venue to host events.
All of my webpages, as well as written and illustrative works, are self-produced without the assistance of code-writing software, templates, or artificial assistants.
Tech-Savvy
I have extensive experience in Information and Communications Technology through my work in Web Management and have tutored others in these skills through my role as a Library Assistant. In my capacities as Web Manager and Editorial Assistant, I created media in the form of video, graphics, PowerPoint presentations, articles, and newsletters for the purpose of providing utility to patrons while also promoting available services. I have likewise addressed customer enquiries by telephone, email, social media, and other online platforms.
Detail-Oriented
In my roles as a Library Assistant and Attendant I was responsible for maintaining stock, displays, and activity spaces in good order; insuring that products and services were current, well organized and tidy.
Diplomatic
I have dealt with challenging customers, particularly in the Library where many homeless and mental health patients would take refuge in our safe and low-stimulus setting, but also while working as a Photo Technician and attending at the resort. Often I was requested by staff, specifically, because I was a good listener and had a calming influence and ability to de-escalate tense situations.
Learner
I have been a prolific reader since the age of twelve and regularly read and write both fiction and non fiction. I earned my Philosophy degree through demonstration of critical analysis and verbal articulation.
All of my knowledge in coding and software, including Adobe and Office Suites, is self-taught. I am proactive in continuous personal development and always seeking to broaden my knowledge on any topic, which is why I have undertaken degrees with the broadest possible scope and studied Behavioural Science, Theatre, World Religion, Philosophy, and currently Visual Anthropology. My innate inclination to contemplate ways to improve all manner of human processes are the drivers of this insatiable love of learning, and I often contribute suggestions for potential improvements to prevailing methods.
