Ay Up!

As my Yorkshire relatives would say. ;-)

SO HOW'S LONDON???? I AM SOO ENVIOUS !!! Just fund out from Dori. I had no idea. Where exactly are you? How long are you there?? You mention where Home is... It's funny. When I arrive in England the times that I have I think I'm Home as I look out the window of the aeroplane onto the greeness below. I feel connected. I will read your blog and Dori and I will live vicariously through the reading of it. Sigh. Enjoy your ventures and do have fun!! And of course Don't forget to have a pint! ;-)

I love your writing as much as ever. Wonderfully said.

Despite limited encounters with their majesty, I manage to miss the redwoods myself.

Maybe you haven't lived in enough places yet (circling medford doesn't count) to fully realize what a difference place makes. The Arizona desert, the LA cementscape, the san francisco climate... left whole different flavors even in memory.

Granted, the right people would have astronomically improved any one of those places. I tend to judge a place in absence of that effect and thus by different standards. But if Jen & Nick or m&d lived in the San Joaquin valley, could you do it? Nooo.

I didn't have time to wrestle with the wordpress code so it's just default customization for now.

I had the same tho't while reading the same passage on Post Secret the other day. I think all you can hope to find is a place that makes you feel welcome enough to draw you in until you make it your home. For me, the people more than the place make this possible. Though I might mention that certain characteristics of "place" might be a deal-breaker....such as too many people. :D
